E. Jakarta Holds Gebyar Budaya Betawi at TMII

East Jakarta Government holds Gebyar Budaya Betawi event at Snowbay, TMII. This event which is initiated by East Jakarta Tourism and Culture Sub-dept. will be held for three days.

Gebyar Budaya Betawi is held for three days in order to preserve Betawi cultures

East Jakarta Mayor, Muhammad Anwar said, this event can be used to preserve Betawi cultures and increase economy in its region.

"Gebyar Budaya Betawi is held for three days in order to preserve Betawi cultures and improve residents economy," he conveyed while opening this event on Friday (8/24).

Meanwhile, East Jakarta Tourism and Culture Sub-dept. Head, Iwan Henry Wardana added, this event will be ended on Sunday (8/26). There are various contests to enliven this event such as culinary contest, stand up comedy, handicraft, and palang pintu.

"Selected menu for culinary contest is Betawi dishes. Such as sayur asem, gabus pucung and others," he informed.

According to him, 37 groups will be competing in this culinary contest. Each groups consist of six personnel. While handicraft contest is participated by 20 groups containing six people for each groups.

Besides, 11 groups are participated in palang pintu contest and 24 people to participate in stand up comedy contest.
